Recently on a Monday for lunch, I tried Tony's, primarily because I was with a partial vegetarian who would eat fish or shrimp. We sat down, wondering why we were the only customers at lunch time. The waiter came out with the lunch menu, and then proceeded to tell us they had no grouper, they had no shrimp and they ran out of gumbo. We asked if they made their own sides and the answer was no. I ordered a cup of coffee while we looked over our options, my dining partner decided she would settle for some potato salad and I tried the jambalya minus the shrimp, thinking that with the sausage and chicken it would surfice. Wrong. The sausage looked like hot dogs and the chicken must have walked through the rice since I found none in my bowl. Drink wise we ordered simply, water that was dingy yellow looking and the coffee, I can't think I ever have had a worse cup of coffee If it was chickory which I doubt, it was the worst chickory I ever tasted. I'm done with Tony's, My rice glop I fix at home was more New Orleans than the jambalya I paid good money for, at least it doesn't have hot dogs in it.

The only place for lunch break. My food was great, and it did not take 10-15 min like at Deb's. I would suguest the sample plate. The ribs are to die for.

Best ribs in Iowa. Great service, friendly people. The only thing worth going downtown for.
