Even though the bar is small, I am so pleased that there is a smoke-free bar in Cedar Rapids! We can find smoke-free bars in places like Ames or bigger cities, but I didn't think anyone would hold the class to open one in Cedar Rapids! I am very impressed. Let me tell you how great it feels to go home after a night out with friends and not smell like an ashtray when you arrive home. Definately a step-up for the town of Cedar Rapids!

Unlike the person above, this will will be the only bar I *don't* visit due to it being non-smoking. It's not always a good business decision to go non-smoking, people like to smoke at bars. That's great for non-smokers though, I happy for you.

This is a smaller bar in downtown Cedar Rapids with a no-smoking policy. It was nice not smelling like smoke at the end of the night. Personally, I wish all bars/clubs in Cedar Rapids would have a similar policy.
They have a number of beers on tap, including Guiness. Prices were very reasonable. It was $2.50 for a domestic bottle and a few dollars for mixed drinks. The bartender (Rosie?) was very good (great looking girl, by the way) and made sure all customers were doing OK.
There is seating for about a dozen people at the bar, while the outer tables can probably handle another 3 dozen. I went on a Friday night at midnight and there were about 20 people (mostly in their 20s and 30s). It wasn't crowded... you could easily find a table for your friends. Since it is a smaller bar, there is a cozy atmosphere. They have a digital jukebox that customers can use for cranking out music. They have 2 large plasma/LCD TVs (can't remember if there were others).
Restrooms were adequate (1 urinal and 1 normal toilet in the guy's restroom). The bar and restrooms were very clean compared to most bars.
Grafton Street Pub is kind of hard to spot if you aren't aware of its location. They have a smaller neon sign just outside the door, and that's it as far as building identification goes (its basically a 'shack' underneath a skywalk on the east side of 3rd St, just south of 4th Ave). Don't let the lack of outside building vibrance deceive you... it really is a nice, clean place inside with a friendly crowd.

5 STARS!!!! 5 STARS!!!! 5 STARS!!!!
This is the first SMOKE-FREE BAR in Cedar Rapids. A MAJOR improvement in the night scene.
Listen up all other bar owners - Due to this Incredibly Wise Decision made by owner Matt Blake, it will be the ONLY bar I will patronize in the area. Believe me, I will be very vocal spouting its virtues to all my friends & family too.
Everyone! Support this pub! Avoid all bars which allow smoking inside.
