Early in the evening the majority of patrons are the business type. Plus some old guy (owner?) with an irish accent constantly plays irish music on the jukebox. Pretty relaxed enviroment. Later the business types start filtering out and the twenty something crowd starts filtering in. Muisc is a pretty good mix of hits. Doesnt get very busy until around 10 pm. This bar is pretty cool. pretty busy on friday nights. No drink specials on Friday nights though. Usually more guys than girls.

The original Dublin City Pub was opened in May 2004 on 2nd Avenue in Downtown Cedar Rapids. The goal was simple: bring the feeling and the spirit of Ireland's pub culture to town along with great Guinness, high quality food, and an environment where customers could feel welcome and at ease. It quickly became a hot spot in the emerging downtown scene and a second venture, Grafton Street Pub, was established in 2006.

Regrettably, both doors were soon darkened by the catastrophic flood of June 2008 and as with many of their neighbors, both businesses were total losses. After 13 months we are delighted to say that we are back!

At Dublin City Pub we are telling the story of Ireland’s deeply rooted and renowned pub culture. One of warm hospitality, great food and drink and even better conversation – what we call “craic” in Irish. We blend the best of the old with the best of the new. Our décor and friendly staff evoke images of the great old pubs of Ireland, whereas our daily business – the music, food and atmosphere – connects more so with the pubs and bars of modern Ireland.

Stop by to check out our new location, grab a pint and escape the day to day!
